Peter has been working with stoneware clay for 30 years. He aims to achieve a balance between form and function in whatever he makes.
His forms and glazes are strongly influenced by New Zealand’s unique environment.
Each piece is individually handmade on a potters wheel and fired in a gas kiln to 1300c.

The glaze reflects the colour of greenstone or jade - a precious stone known to Maori as Pounamu and of cultural importance to them.
The Kina is a sea urchin or sea egg (Latin name Evechinus chloroticus) favoured as a delicacy by Maori.
